Seattle7Writers and the Poulsbo branch of Kitsap Regional Libraries join forces to host a panel of successfully published YA genre writers as they discuss their books, their writing process, and join in a shared conversation about the world of young adult fiction.

Author bios:
Steven Arntson is the author most recently of the middle grade novel The Trap (Houghton Mifflin 2015). His novel The Wrap-Up List was a finalist for the 2014 Washington State Book Award. He lives in Seattle with his wife Anne and a cat named Dickie.
Deb Caletti is an award-winning author and National Book Award finalist. Her many books for young adults include Stay, The Last Forever, Essential Maps for the Lost, and Honey, Baby Sweetheart, winner of the Washington State Book award, the PNBA Best Book Award, and a finalist for the PEN USA Award. Her books for adults include He’s Gone, and The Secrets She Keeps, and her fifteenth book, What’s Become of Her, which will be released in April of 2017. She lives with her family in Seattle.
Carol Cassella is a practicing physician and the national bestselling author of three novels, Gemini (2014), Healer (2010), and Oxygen (2008). All were Indie Next Picks, and have been published in multiple foreign languages. Her books have been finalists for the Washington State Book Award, and highlighted as top choices by Library Journal, BookList, Harpers Bazaar, People, Poets & Writers, Women’s Day, and USA Today, among others. She lives on Bainbridge Island, Washington, with her husband and four children.
Kevin Emerson is the author of sixteen novels for children and young adults. His books have been published in ten different countries, and you could say he’s big in the Czech Republic. Formerly a science teacher, Kevin has taught with Seattle Arts & Lectures’ Writers in the Schools program and Richard Hugo House. He is also a musician, has won a spelling bee, lost a beauty pageant, and once appeared in a Swedish TV commercial.
Karen Finneyfrock is a poet and novelist in Seattle. She is the author of two young adult novels: The Sweet Revenge of Celia Door and Starbird Murphy and the World Outside, both published by Viking Children’s Books. She is one of the editors of the anthology Courage: Daring Poems for Gutsy Girls and the author of Ceremony for the Choking Ghost, both released on Write Bloody press. She is a former Writer-in-Residence at Richard Hugo House in Seattle and teaches for Seattle Arts & Lectures’ Writers in the Schools program.
Garth Stein is the author of four novels, including the New York Times bestselling books The Art of Racing in the Rain and A Sudden Light. He is also the author of four children’s picture books based on the character of Enzo. He is the co-founder of Seattle7Writers.
