Holiday Bookfest
Saturday, November 18, 2017 from 3-5 pm
Phinney Neighborhood Center (6532 Phinney Ave. N. Seattle, 98103)
Think about holiday shopping. Imagine malls. Parking. Crowds. Now imagine a Saturday afternoon in November, walking up the deliciously worn wooden steps of the Phinney Neighborhood Center to find a boutique bookstore, created especially by a local indie bookstore. Imagine encountering not only books, but the authors who wrote them – signing, chatting, reading (and sometimes even singing). And all the while you can nibble on fresh-baked goods, created by the authors themselves. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Bureau of Fearless Ideas (formerly 826 Seattle) and the PNA, so you can indulge your bookishness and help two good causes, all at the same time.
We’ll be collecting gently used books for the pocket library programs – bring three or more books and get a reusable Seattle7Writers bag you can use to carry your purchases.
Check back later for list of authors, reading schedule, etc.
